Tron is a blockchain-based decentralized protocol that aims to construct a worldwide free content entertainment system with the blockchain and distributed storage technology. This protocol allows each user to freely publish, store and own data, and in the decentralized autonomous form, decides the distribution, subscription and push of contents and enables content creators by releasing, circulating and dealing with digital assets and this will form a decentralized content entertainment ecosystem.
Tron’s team members are convinced that protocol, from the moment of its invention, is an asset for human beings, rather than a profit-making tool. They are also followers of Sir Tim Berners-Lee. The Tron Foundation mirrors principles of openness, fairness and transparency and supports Tron’s development team. The Tron Foundation was established in Singapore and it is a non-profit organisation.
Singapore is renowned for its stable and well-established laws and financial environment. The Tron Foundation is subject to the laws of Singapore and is a non-profit entity. It is a legal entity with no commercial interest that supports and engages in activities for public or private benefits. So much so that any profits made by the Foundation are deemed surplus and will be retained for the organisation and implementations of other activities and events. Members of the Foundation will never partake any distribution of profits.
Users of Tron will have the fundamental ownership of data and the internet should be decentralized. This was proposed by Tim Berners-Lee at the time when the internet was born and the original intention for creation of the internet. Those who make a contribution will be entitled to proportionate profits according to the rules. All forms of contribution should be of equal quantitative value whether they are contributions of time invested, excellent contents created and attention. The most important objective of Tron is to provide services for the public. Tron is designed to serve the masses who enjoy content entertainment throughout the world and not essentially for making profits. All Tron participants will benefit from its prosperity.
Contents should derive from people rather than from capitals and this should reward people and not control them. Cultural and creative industries should include the quality of art and contents by creators, artists and scriptwriters rather than capitalists who consume no contents. These are the four basic characterisations of Tron: Data liberation, content enabling, personal ICO and infrastructure. Tron's basic unit of official currency in the blockchain is Tronix.
